Family Camp

You are never too old (or too young) to enjoy camp!

Camp Olson brings families and friends together to refresh and celebrate their ties, and build new ones with others who enjoy living simply for a time in the out-of-doors, and sharing the spirit of the northwoods. We welcome family as you define it, and we hope that you will leave strengthened and reconnected.

Camp Olson offers an unforgettable family camping experience. Families are housed in their own private, single room, bunk-style cabins and are provided with three delicious meals per day and an action-packed week of activities. Your family can choose to share a cabin with another family to share in fees. Cabins sleeps 8-10 people.

In addition, our friendly and creative staff provide daily games and events for kids of all ages, such as the regatta, eco-challenge, theme night & Carnival, beach skit, capture the flag, variety show, cookouts, nightly campfires, and more. Our morning Kid Clubs offer structured fun for children and free time for adults. All meals and activities are included in this all-inclusive vacation. Camp Olson staff maintain current first-aid and lifeguard certifications from the Red Cross to ensure our commitment to safety.

Sailing

The boathouse has a variety of watercraft which includes larger sailboats, sunfish and windsurfing gear. Our trained boathouse staff is always available to instruct or simply be your skipper for a cruise around Little Boy Lake. The week culminates in the Regatta, where Little Boy Lake is filled with the entire Camp Olson fleet all racing for bragging rights.

Beach

Cool off at our waterfront where you and your kids can swim under lifeguard supervision. No matter your age, you’ll enjoy building sand castles, the rolling log, basketball, the floating mat, volleyball, or just relaxing.

Sauna

The northwoods experience would not be complete without a sauna. The sauna will be stoked and hot each evening.

Paddlesports

We have canoes, kayaks, and paddleboards available for use on all of our lakes!

Horseback Riding

Our corral staff will offer trail and ring rides throughout the week. Camp Olson’s horse trails run for many miles throughout our scenic 1300+ acres. The Corral staff is trained to accommodate riders of all ages and skill levels. Trail riders must be at least 11 years old and weigh no more than 215 pounds.

Crafts

Let your creative self shine at our Craftshop. Our staff can help guide you through a project such as tie-dying or jewelry making, or feel free to get inspired by nature.

Fishing

Fishing at Camp Olson is second to none as we are situated on 6 lakes, three of which are entirely within Camp Olson’s 1300+ acres. Our pristine and private Shurd lakes are unspoiled by motor or public use and are prime spots to fish for the big one. Cooper Lake is a great panfish and bass lake with a kid-friendly pier and Little Boy offers a variety of fish for all anglers. You can also sign up to take our Fishing Pontoon out for a spin on Cooper Lake!

Nature Programs

Our resident naturalist can help introduce you to much of the diverse flora and fauna around camp. Nature hikes, stargazing, the Bog walk, and the Eco-Challenge are just a few highlights.

Mountain Biking

Our Mountain Bike Lodge is open for you to check out a bike at your leisure and explore our many trails and skills course. Each afternoon Mountain Bike rides will be scheduled with a guide to take into the more remote places of our 1300+ acre wilderness.

Target Sports

Trained staff supervise our archery, riflery, hatchet throwing and sling shot ranges.

Hiking

We have miles of trails to explore within our 1300+ acres of forests, fields, lakes, swamps. Feel free to explore on your own, with a guide, or along our interpretive trail.
