Caring, compassionate, kind, friendly, bright, creative, and cool; these are just few of the words that describe the typical staff member at Camp Olson. Above the beautiful facility and exciting activities, it is our staff who create your camp experience.
Your 2-3 counselors live with you in your cabin and guide you through your adventure at Camp. Counselors are always there when you need them and are always ready with a game, a song, or a shoulder to lean on. They are friendly, enthusiastic and they CARE about you getting the most out of your time at Camp Olson.
Program staff facilitate all of the activities at Camp including horseback riding at the Corral, sailing at the Boathouse, swimming and games at the Beach, art activities in the Craft Shop, archery and riflery at the Target Sports Range, and nature activities at the Nature Center.
The kitchen staff work hard to provide healthy and tasty meals three times a day, while the maintenance staff work hard behind the scenes keeping camp safe, clean, and looking good.
The typical staff member at Camp Olson is between 17-25 years of age. 75% of our staff are former campers themselves, so the traditions and legacies of stories, games, songs, and camp spirit remain strong. All our staff undergo a week-long training program prior to summer. The majority of Camp Olson staff members are certified by the Red Cross in Lifeguarding, First Aid, and CPR.
